Isabelle Mary Bassett, 84, of Buzzards Bay, passed away Monday, June 19, 2017 at Royal Cape Cod. She was the wife of the late Everett W."Red" Bassett.

Born in Fulham, England, the daughter of the late James and Isabelle (Merlin) Hoey. She had lived in Buzzards Bay, prior to moving to Wareham. She had been very active with St. Margaret's Church. Isabelle loved to paint, she enjoyed gardening, playing scrabble and bingo and was an avid reader. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She also had a great love...

Isabelle Mary Bassett, 84, of Buzzards Bay, passed away Monday, June 19, 2017 at Royal Cape Cod. She was the wife of the late Everett W."Red" Bassett.

Born in Fulham, England, the daughter of the late James and Isabelle (Merlin) Hoey. She had lived in Buzzards Bay, prior to moving to Wareham. She had been very active with St. Margaret's Church. Isabelle loved to paint, she enjoyed gardening, playing scrabble and bingo and was an avid reader. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She also had a great love of animals. Isabelle had worked as a waitress at Sandy's Restaurant in Buzzards Bay for many years.

She is survived by her children, Wayne Bassett of Wareham, Jeanette McKinstry of Dennisport, Theresa Campbell and her husband Richard of Hyannis, Keith Bassett of Florida and Michele Strojny and her husband William of Bourne; grandchildren, Richard, Theresa, Joey, Keith, Danielle, Audrey, Cheryl and Brianna; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Angelina, Isabelle, Treyvonne and Jessenya, Jacob and William; her sister, Leo Andrews of England. She was predeceased by her siblings, Charlie, Jim, Doris and Elaine, Margaret and Joan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne. Interment is private. Visitation prior to service 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Human Society, MSPCA or St. Jude's Children Research Hospital.
